December Golf

Granite Springs - 16th Green
For some of us, one thing that is very common is playing golf in December.  This year is no different.  A few of us die-hards are still at it, trying to squeeze a few more games out of a golf season which is rapidly drawing to a close.  As far as we know there is only one golf course still open to the public in the Halifax Dartmouth area and it is Granite Springs, out on the Prospect Road.  This past weekend the weather was fine and they were open for a large crowd of golfers and a 10:30 AM shotgun start on both Saturday and Sunday.  Sunday was particularly fine and warm enough for me to remove my jacket for the entire round.  I had my camera with me and recorded (and edited) this video of our day.

But the nicest photo of the day was taken by Peter Grant using his Blackberry phone camera.   He took the above picture from the tee-box area of the 16th hole looking down to the green as we were waiting for the group in front of us to clear (click on the picture to get a larger view of it).  Peter managed to capture the winter lighting that made it such a beautiful day.
