The Royal Brunei Golf Club

Today I got the opportunity to play golf at the Royal Brunei Golf & Country Club at Jerudong Park with my son-in-law Anth.  Because it was a weekday the price is reduced, so 18 holes with a cart cost me about 36 Canadian dollars – a real bargain.

Number 8 Tee - Royal Brunei Golf Club
Anth calls it the  “Jungle Course” and with good reason.  It is the narrowest course that I have ever played.   Carved out of the jungle of Borneo it not only has fairways that demand much more accuracy than I could deliver but many of the greens are the size of a parachute.  Prior to coming here my friend, John White gave me a number of Taylor Made golf balls as a parting gift.  I am afraid that a large number of those balls are now in the hands of monkeys or lost even deeper in the jungle.  I refuse to divulge my score . . . I am so embarrassed by it.

Despite all of that, it is a beautiful track.  I forgot my camera at the door as I left the house this morning so I have no pictures of this stunning golf course.  This picture of the 8th hole is something I found on the internet.  Next time I will have my camera in hand to prove I actually did play the Royal Brunei Golf & Country Club.
