Winter has arrived! While the rest of the continent as far south as Texas was experiencing this sort of weather earlier this year, we in Nova Scotia have had a very pleasant autumn (I was golfing in a sweater 4 days ago). Once again the reality of a Canadian winter is falling all around us. I took this picture from our balcony this afternoon.

With all the snow, our Satellite TV was out so Cathie and I decided we would go to a movie. We went to see The Queen with Helen Mirren. The theater is just down the road from us and we had no trouble getting there but the storm had prevented all but one of the theater staff from getting to work. This one staff member was selling tickets, running the concession stand and running multiple movies. Not that he had a lot of customers, but the young fella had it all under control and the movies running on time. The ideal employee! We were the only two that watched The Queen in that theater last night. Just the two of us in a large theater with stadium seating - appropriately we felt like royalty. It was a good movie and Helen Mirren was excellent.
